Outlook 2000 Email Configuration

This will guide you through adding your ACRnet email address(es) to Outlook 2000 for Windows.

To begin, open Outlook. You may have an icon on your desktop, or it may be located in your START menu.

  • Click the Tools menu at the top of the window
  • Select Accounts
  • Click the ADD button and select MAIL
  • Click NEXT
  • If you would like to import email and your address book from Outlook Express, select Outlook Express. Otherwise, select None of the above
  • Click NEXT
  • Select Internet Only
  • Click NEXT
  • You will be prompted with information about Internet Mail
  • Click Yes to continue
  • Enter your name in the Display Name box
  • Click NEXT
  • Enter your ACRNet email address in the E-mail address box. Your email address can be found on your User Information sheet.
  • Click Next
  • Be sure that POP3 is selected next to " my incoming mail server is a _ server"
  • In the Incoming Mail box, enter: mail.acrnet.com
  • In the Outgoing Mail box, enter: mail.acrnet.com
  • Click NEXT
  • In the Account Name box, enter your login name. Your login name can be found on the User Information sheet
  • Put a check next to Remember Password if there is not already
  • In the Password box, enter your password . The password can also be found on the User Information Sheet
  • DO NOT check the box next to "log on using Secure Password Authentication"
  • Click NEXT
  • Select I will establish my Internet Connection Manually
  • Click NEXT
  • You should now be seeing the congratulations screen. This completes the setup of your ACRnet email address.
  • Click FINISH
  • If you wish to add another email address using the same inbox, return to the beginning and repeat for the next email address
